Conferences > Delegates
Your conference could be the perfect opportunity to really take in the sights and sounds of our historic, vibrant city. As you enter the city by road, rail, sea or air, you'll probably notice at least one of Liverpool's famous landmarks, and you might well get the urge to take a closer look. Then, as you're walking or taxiing to the landmark, you'll start passing restaurants, bars, galleries and theatres that you've never heard of but which simply have to be experienced. Indeed, you will probably start wishing you could stick around after the conference.
The popularity of Liverpool as a conference city has led to the "stay longer" phenomenon, where delegates attach a mini break to one end of the conference and enjoy the city, often with their families, colleagues or friends. It is such a pleasurable way to prepare for or wind down from a conference that conference organisers themselves sometimes make some recreational arrangements for their delegates.
Even if your calendar is filled to bursting point, there could be a few places to visit during the evenings, be they restaurants, shows or pubs. If you're conferencing in the city centre, a lunchtime wander around a gallery or a light meal in a café or bar could be just the ticket.
